Family time

Sometimes I feel like, as a family, we are so busy running around after Stella we forget to come up for air. To correct this situation; Auston, Stella and I hopped into the car last Sunday and drove to where we used to live, the beach. I didn't realize how much I missed it until we pulled onto the 101-N. I looked at Auston and said "We're home.". It truly felt like it. Seeing all of our old haunts gave me butterflies. The weather was great, the company was great and so was the food.

The first stop we made was to have lunch with our old roommate, Alex. We ate some delicious BBQ and caught up. It is so sweet to see him with Stella. He loves our daughter so much. I am so thankful that we have so many people in our lives that love our daughter so purely. After our delicious lunch we went and got a giant bag of salt water taffy and headed down to the sand. Stella was in HEAVEN.

She was mesmerized by the sand and the breeze and the sound of the ocean. It made my heart thump just a little bit harder watching her enjoy herself. After stopping Stella from eating sand about a half dozen times we decided to go to our hotel, take a nap and then get ready for dinner at where we met, and both worked, Guiseppe's Italiana Cucina. We spent time with old friends and yet again, delicious food. Auston started to feel a bit sick before we got to the restaurant. We ended up driving home super late. It was a long drive but it did feel good sleeping in our own bed.
